I am certain it is just as hard for you as it is for me to believe it is almost November and yet here we are! As the holiday season and it’s attendant celebrations approach it always brings to mind charity. We have found that the most pleasurable way to show our gratitude for what we have is to give back to those less fortunate. One such expression of that for us has been the Pass The Wine event we have held every Fall the past 8 years running.
Pass the Wine is a wine driven charity that has developed a unique strategy to convert donated collectable wine into funding. This year due to the unfortunate and devastating fires in Northern California, we will be channeling all proceeds toward charities that assist the people and communities most effected in Napa and Sonoma Counties. In light of this, it would be only fitting that we feature the wines of a decidedly Sonoma County vineyard- Red Car Wine Company. Known for their Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah, their wines are grown in cold-climate vineyards on the edge of the Pacific in Sonoma County. Going beyond sustainability, they have set the standard for utilizing organic, biodynamic and permaculture systems in their winemaking pursuits. As always, an innovative 4-Course dinner by Chef John Thomas will compliment the wines, while Red Car’s very own Peter Willmert will be with us in person to introduce the wines.
In addition to the funds that will be raised by your generosity, once again Pass The Wine and 32 East will be featuring a sensational silent auction with such diverse items as a bevy of rare and collectible wines as well as a wine raffle of more modest wines. We ask that all guests please bring a bottle of wine per person for donation of $20-$30 value that we will be using in a raffle in which all the proceeds will go to the given charities.
Seating is limited to 60 Guests and sells out promptly every year, and if you have never been to this spectacular event- now is your last chance as this will be the final Pass The Wine event at 32 East. So, if you are interested in joining us please keep that in mind!
